Abstract:

Includes snapshot scenes of the the British petroleum industry in Mexico: oil fields, oil tanks, oil pumps, boilers, oil gushers and oil tankers. Includes dramatic photographs of oil wells on fire, the aftermath of some fires, and the repair and reconstruction of damaged structures. Also depicted are British oil industry personnel -- including Vavasour -- and their wives during leisure outings. Identified locales include Llano de Bustos and Potrero del Llano. Other subjects include landscapes, town views, local citizens, and a few scenes pertaining to the Mexican Revolution (hanged men, Carrancistas, groups described as rebels, etc.).
